quickcluck
Morning! Just let the girls out and there was a small softy that plopped through the roosting bars.... I know these are pretty common, and I've no idea who was responsible, Hariett has just laid her first egg this week on tuesday and 2 are not laying yet.... No one has been unwell or listlesss.... and we are on day 4 of flubenvet.... they have grit with oyster shell.... Is this OK? Should I add some limestone to the pellet??? Thanks. Electricbarbarella
i think it is ok when they are first coming into lay. I have had a softie most days for a week now and I have no idea who is laying it.
Egluntyne
Don't worry at this stage. It will just be a blip....very common when they first come into lay. My Amber Link laid a softie yesterday, and as you say, it plopped through the bars, and she didn't seen bothered in anyway.
alison
There seems to be a lot of softie laying at the moment. I thought I was lucky, three of them laid this morning, and then at 4 ish I found a softie in the nesting box. Quite big, so I ate it in an omlette about 10 mins ago!
