Jewels
Came home from work this evening to find that one of my two girls had laid her first egg Was sooooo excited. We had it for supper tonight, boiled it and shared it. Just quick question, can I add warm water to their layers pellets to make it into mash? Thanks - Georgina - Josephine hurrah !!!!! BrunswickBB
Congrat's!! It is exciting isn't it?! ...we got our second one today, and that was still just as exciting! Dotty is not showing any signs that she might lay any time soon, but fingers crossed - we gave Margot lots of praise and dandelion leaves (she goes mad for them!) after our first egg. We did the same as you - despite being small we lovingly cooked and shared it! Not sure about turning pellets to mash - maybe try a little amount in a dish? I imagine it might just turn to sludge though?
mrsallen08
Congratulations! Pellets would just turn to sludge with water however im sure if you pm dancing cloud you can ask for her recipe for henny poridge! I'd like to say its her secret recipe but that wouldn't be true as she is always on here sharing it with the world! Why do you want mash from pellets anyway??? Jewels
Just thought would try giving them some mash for something more interesting as they don't really seem thrilled by the layers, although they do eat some of them. Had my second egg today, came home lunchtime and found it, went back to work and told everyone, they all excited too!! Finding the eggs is like a Christmas Morning, (that makes me sound real sad - but it is!) The porridge sounds interesting, don't know how to how to get hold of dancing cloud, may just put out a general plea for the henny porridge receipe?? Just go to members at the top of the page, pick letter D, then click usernames and it will sort them alphabetically on letter D. You will find dancing cloud and you can pm her. The egg feeling is great isn't it. We have now had three in a row from one of our girls.
