Sticky beak

Recommended Posts

One of our Orpingtons has been off colour for a couple of days. Discovered this morning that she has a slight discharge from her nostrils and her beak/mouth were clogged up with snot, which we've removed with cotton buds. She's not sneezing or coughing.

What should we do?

Thank you - it's such a help to know there are other, experienced, hen keepers out there!

She was pretty glum this morning so I took her to the vet, who diagnosed upper respiratory tract infection. He gave her antibiotic and I have to repeat the injections twice more. Think I'll get some Citricidal anyway - I didn't know about it.
