optimistique1
Hi Guys I am new to the forum and new to the 'Hen' world. I just got a pair of Pekin Bantam Chicks last week and one of them seems to have blood in the droppings. They are only a few weeks old. The person who I got them from suggested that it may be coccidiosis and to maybe treat this with some Sulphur Dimodine. However, she also said that the chick feed was medicated so it didn't make add up. Both chicks are eating and drinking fine and seem pretty active apart from the above. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Garry

chucknette
Hi Garry and welcome to the forum I think the breeder is probably right and your chicks will need treating. The medicated chick crumb might not have been eaten for long enough for any resistance to build up as they are quite young. If the breeder cant give you any treatment then it will be a trip to the vet Im afraid. Hope all turns out well for you. Best wishes
