Redwing
I don't think anyone here is seriously saying that a dog on a lead is not to be trusted and would attack a child I think they are indicating that this particular dog which attacked with no warning may be volatile and could be dangerous - after all walking past it on the pavement with my dog on a lead would be just as much risk. If this guy has a dog that is likely to attack straight off (rather than growl, bark, cower as a warning) even if he keeps him on the shortest lead ever and everyone else kept their dogs on leads it will only be a matter of time before that dog got the opportunity to strike. This is not a witch hunt against all dogs on leads/dogs off leads, we all do things differently and I took the decision to let my dog off the lead believing that he would be ok as he is well trained, things went wrong and I am happy to learn from that Hopefully our new long lead will be the answer! Emma Tarpey
Poor Alfie, what a great shame hopefully he has bounced back and it hasn't affected him too much. Thanks it hasn't seemed to that much only he doesn't like dogs sniffing around that area
