4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

How do you get a chicken to take antibiotic pills? The vet just opened up her mouth and popped them in this morning, but now I'm back home I haven't a clue how I'm going to immobilise her and pop the pill in with only 2 hands!

Any suggestions?

Wrap her in a towel to stop her flapping.

 

Prize her beak open and place the pill at the back of her tongue.

 

Is the pill small enough to put inside a sultana? She'll not know that she has taken it that way.

Unfortunately sultanas aren't her favourite treats. The only thing she goes mad for is mealworms (dried) and they're not easy to stuff!

Could you grind the pill and coat the meal worms with it?

There's an idea. I'm sure she'd gobble them down then.

I use a pestle and mortar and grind it down then mix it with some wet pellets to make a porridge. Always works.

This morning I ground it up with some mealworms and a bit of yoghurt and it went down a treat. This evening she turned her nose up at it, so I had to try the grabbing her in a towel and putting it down her throat. How did the vet make it look so easy? I now have one very disgruntled chicken who's hiding from me and wouldn't even be tempted out with a mealworm.
