alih
Pumpkin, my year-old has been my most constant layer - every day without exception since she started in January. The last 2 days she has laid softies and I have no idea why so thought I would consult the eggsperts. Usual diet, including extra calcium, no lice, mites or worms, perky and bright...I notice that she is rather fluffy on one of her legs and may be having a mini-moult - can that lead to softies? Any ideas would put my mind at rest. Thanks guys.
Snowy
One of mine has been doing this - she is normally a brilliant layer, but when she comes up to moult, or comes into lay again, we get a run of softies. I've started giving them the limestone flour and it has improved, although they are still thin shelled. I just have to grab them out of the nest box before the rest go in and trample them
alih
Well, Snowy, after 3 days of softies it seems we are back to normal today - a tiny blip it appears, but weird... hope yours are back on track too
