PluckedChicken
One of ours just doesn't seem to be coming out of it. We haven't got a cockeral so its all pointless, but shes been like it forever....or it seems like it anyway. I remove her from the nesting box and they are free ranging for someof the day but I can't leave the door closed when they are in the run because they lay throughout the day (which is another thread atogether...is that normal?). Is there anything I can do? I read in my chicken book that dunking them in a bucket of cold water can work because it lowers the blody temp but that feels abit wicked. Egluntyne
Have a look at Kate's article in the FAQ's. **Here**
EileenH
I gave Beauty a soaking last weekend and she came `off the broody`by the next morning. It did seem mean but she`s a lot happier now. The neighbours thought I`d lost it though, as I was puruing a protesting chicken round the garden with a hose pipe!
