AJuff
My aggressive columbine Hazel has been mounting Alice the smaller white star and does a wriggling mating thing to her. Definately a she as she lays blue eggs. Although she looks very much like a cockeral with her huge tail feathers. What's going on?????? Guest
I have read that sometimes when there is no cockeral in the flock one of the females may show some male characteristics and take on a male-type role.
Egluntyne
It is a dominance thing. My Artemis Fowl does it quite a lot. She has an impressive set of spurs and a deep voice too.....but does lay eggs.
