one of our chooks is laying egg without shell and then eating it

It is a softie.

 

Is she new to laying? They are not uncommon at this stage.

 

She needs good quality layers pellets , mixed poultry grit, and not too many treats.

 

An additional source of calcium such as Limestone Flour, crushed and baked egg shells or a commercial product such as Zolcal D will help if it persists.

shes been laying for about three quaters of a year and we bbuy organic pellets

Just a blip probably.

 

I'd up her calcium intake and cut down of the treats if it happens again, to see if there is any improvement.
