Ella
My new German Vowerk hen Cookie is being bullied by my other two chickens Clover and Ruby and my bantam Willow. I need advice on Whether they will accept her or continue bullying her. Can anyone help?
Egluntyne
It isn't a good idea to put one new hen straight in with the others, Ella. There will always be a spot of bother. It is especially important not to put a very young hen straight in with older ones. Have a look at **these articles** for some advice. george&mildred
I would recommend the Bach flower essence of Vine - it will help stop the bullying! You can purchase them from Boots or any good health food shop. I would add 6 drops in their water bowl every day until the bullying stops. Ella
It is not a very young hen it is older than the others and it wasn't put straight in with the others. We were wondering if it could be jelousy because there is a cockrel in there as well. Do chickens get jelous when another female is introduced? It might take a few days. I like the flower remedy idea. I shall be giving that a try. I am introducing my 4 littlies to the main flock at the mo.
