Guest
there is an animal sanctuary that has been running for 22 years in the North East that is in trouble and faces imminent closure. The 200+ animals face being put to sleep unless money can be raised quickly. You'll find more details here. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?sid=b004fb9bb3e1a233605696157ab27122&refurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fs.php%3Fref%3Dsearch%26init%3Dq%26q%3Drainbow%2Bark%26sid%3Db004fb9bb3e1a233605696157ab27122&gid=23772194229 But, one of the ways you can help is to buy their book called 'Norah A Chicken' ...which is about a battery hen's journey to save other abused animals and take them to Rainbow Ark. just thought people could get themselves a nice Christmas present for any children in the family, plus help a good cause at the same time... please spread the word too if you can. Guest
thanks Jackie. I didn't realise Waterstones were selling them. I paid via the paypal link on the facebook site and then sent a message that I'd paid along with my details. I assumed they'd get more of a cut if I bought direct, I don't know?? I bought it for my niece for Christmas. I'm sure it all helps anyway. I hope they manage to raise enough to save it from closing, it'll destroy the lady that runs it if it closes, so tragic. Not only is it a sanctuary but special needs kids visit and see the animals.
jackiepoppies
I tried an tried an tried to log on to your link, but being an (almost) total failure with 'pooters, I just couldn't find it.......love James' ceiling though Hence going to Waterstones Anyway, I know they probably won't get as much, but at least they'll get something. There are so many people/organizations out there that need help......I just CAN'T help everyone, but because I have a disabled son, I now explain to collectors why I choose to support associations with disabled links only. They (other associations eg Heart, RNLI etc.) have all been really understanding and I feel at least I have tried to give an explanation rather than totally ignoring people who give their time so generously.
