chooklady
Blossom our Bluebelle isn't well. She was fine yesterday, she laid yesterday and today. She is eating when we encouraged her but otherwise she just sits with her tail down and her eyes closed. I had some Baytril in the fridge so I have given her some, hope this is ok. She's had some mash with chicken spice in and a little bit of sardine fillet as it was the only tinned fish I had, she really enjoyed that. I can hear her wheezing when she breathes. she is very quiet, she is or was top of the pecking order, but not today. 1. Am I right in thinking I can't eat her eggs while she's on Baytril. 2. Any other suggestions of what I can do for her? 3. I'm thinking I will put her in a pet carrier in the shed tonight just so she doesn't infect the others, she is in the run with them at the moment, or should I bring her indoors so we can keep a close eye on her. I am very worried, she is my daughter's hen, obviously if she gets any worse I will have to seek professional help. Many thanks, I will eagerly await your opinions. Egluntyne
She sounds poorly. Maybe a rip to the vet is in order as she is wheezing. You shouldn't eat the eggs during the course of treatment with Baytril and for a week after, or as drirected by your vet.
