Chickaboo Posted October 21, 2008 Share Posted October 21, 2008 We are currently looking after my in-laws tortoise, with a view to keeping it. but does anybody know of any potential disease risk on both sides, with having both. bigmommasally Posted October 21, 2008 Share Posted October 21, 2008 I have 2 horsefield tortoises, and I asked the same question on a tortoise forum prior to getting the girls. The answers I got back was that there wasn't any transferable diseases. However I have always felt wary as I think torts can carry salmonella in their poos and knowing that chickens are likely to eat anything I have chosen to keep them separate.
