Hi Welsh Sarah,

I brought home some filthy 15 week olds yesterday and they had to have a bath, they were caked in poo - some from travelling and some from the conditions they were living in

I didn't know what to put in the water either - we debated a small drop of ecover but in the end went for a small amount of dettol, on the basis that is would get rid of any bacteria they brought in with them. We did keep dipping in the bucket and then rubbing and gently picking at the caked bits until they were a bit cleaner.

We decided against a soap of any kind because it would remove natural oils, but i'm sure there are pekin lovers (like Claret) who will have better advice.

The hair dryer on a warm setting seemed to dry them up, and they really didn't mind!

good luck!
