I thought I'd put out a geek chicken shout.

 

New Scientist had this interesting article:

about modern chicken farming, inbreeding and its consequences for the chicken genome. Quite fascinating, if not a little wrong.

 

It put me in mind a little of Alan Partridge talking about farming. There's a clip of him on youtube if you search for 'alan partridge farming' where he is going on about 20ft chickens hidden in secret battery farms, which is why "Ooops, word censored!"ody is allowed into them to see. Completely bonkers of course. Or is it?!
