She would rush to eat any feathers left on the ground It was if she was tidying up after the others She doesn't do it anymore and never came to any harm by it. Barkisland Posted November 13, 2008 Share Posted November 13, 2008 Three of mine eat feathers - I was told it can be a sign of protein deficiency as feathers are pure protein? I was advised to give them fish meal as a supplement, but I am new and don't know if that's good advice. I know some people give tuna to their chooks when they need protein. I'm not overly concerned as I'm sure they eat a lot worse but if it is an indicator of anything other than bad manners I'd love to know!
