Popcorn
I've had a look at this site via the 'links' button at the top of this page. Trouble is, I'd really like to get involved in a scheme like this, but it leaves no details of how to go about it. Can anyone shed any light for me/point me in the right direction of where to go or who to ask about veg boxes being delivered in my local area? SarahJo
Hi Gina .. some of our local "pet farms" do this, infact Stockley farm are also going to provide all the fruit and veg for Ben and Joes primary school as a new contract. You could try doing a local search on google. . Or if you know any local farmer market type things near to you ....
Popcorn
Thanks Sarahjo. There's lots of farmers markets around here being quite near rural leicestershire. I'll have to get my bum out of bed early and go and visit a few! such a great idea, and it would be even better if you didn't know what you were getting in your box each week. I wonder if they'll do trade off's for eggs.....
SarahJo
I think you will need a few more hens for that one Gina,
Cate in NZ
I've also found quite a good sounding organic box scheme www.abel-cole.co.uk/ (not at sure if that'll hyperlink- probably not, sorry), but they look good & seem to deliver to quite a large area, although i don't know if they cover your area. Unfortunately they only deliver down here on a wednesday, I often see them locally when I'm on the school run, but wednesday's such a pig of a day for me I simply can't be around for deliveries I have lots of farms locally tho' & end up driving miles to get fresh produce from them. Not at all environmentally friendly, all that petrol & emissions, but at least I generally know where my food comes from. And then there's always Waitrose
