Yorkshire Pudding
Hello all My Daph has been quiet and a bit hunched for a few days, she laid this morning for the first time in a week - but when I cleaned the eglu tray today there were several bottle green poos in there. I had assumed she was off lay due to moulting, but now am worried. I have been worming the girls this week with Flubenvet (using the 'in a grape' method to make sure they both get a share), but it has never had this effect before! Is she likely to have eaten something that dyed her poo green? Or should I panic?
Egluntyne
Has she been free ranging and overdoing it on the vegetation? I bet it is just the Flubenvet giving her a good clear out.
HENthusiastic
No words of wisdom I'm afraid, but I do so hope shes okay. They are a worry arent they?
Yorkshire Pudding
Has she been free ranging and overdoing it on the vegetation? I bet it is just the Flubenvet giving her a good clear out. I hope so! Free range time has been limited by the short day length, so they've been eating everything they can find when they do get out. She looks perkier today than at the start of the week, so I think she just needed worming. She laid this morning so she can't be too unwell! Bright green just gave me a bit of a start! Thanks for your replies Egluntine and HEN. (waves).

mostin
Don't want to alarm you, but just read on another thread where they have said that bright green poos from their girls means they have eaten something poisonous . I don't know if this info is correct or just hearsay. Is there any chance Daphne could have eaten a poisoned mouse or some slug pelletts or something? I'm sure she's just having a clear out though, keep us updated on how she is xxxx.
Yorkshire Pudding
Oh heck, my neighbour has been known to use slug pellets, but she's very careful not to put them anywhere near the fence in case the girls get to them. Daph is still quiet today; she was busy scratching around at free range time but still looks a bit hunched up. Fingers crossed that whatever it is has gone through the system. She's eating well enough. If it is slug pellets, I'm not sure that anything could be done anyway, poor love.
mostin
As long as she's still eating and drinking plenty I'm sure it will pass through her system soon and then she'll begin to perk up. Poor old Daphne .

HENthusiastic
*waving back* How is Daphne doing today? How are her poos? One thing Ive learnt is that one poo of any particular strangeness isn't worth fretting about. I think they can lay a variety of wonderful colours and consistencys as one offs. Its only if they keep doing odd poos or dont seem ok other wise that you need to worry. Hope shes better today.
Yorkshire Pudding
She seems a little perkier - and you're right HEN, it was just a one off. The Flubenvet really did give her a clearout, so I'll keep an eye on her for a week or two and re-worm her if necessary. No more eggs this week, but I think both ladies are moulting and sulking about the disgusting weather. They sit in their polytunnel looking out and clucking disapprovingly, although when the rain stops they are quck enough to dash out and wreck a bit more of the lawn! Guilty as charged, back to the salt mines for me tomorrow so making the most of my last day of freedom . Christmas cards is a great idea, good luck getting your girls to stay still though. You'll notice that Shirley's head is a bit blurred as she will never stay still for a photo .

If you click on my web page link in the sig you can can email him from the link in there .
