thechickenkeeper
Hi all, just wanted to share my videos of the chickens and chicks, the run and garden, i hope you enjoy some of the sounds from the native new zealand birds in the background too, and watch for the little fantail in 'camp tenko' they are so cute, they catch flies, so they are always around the girls, they fly around you and so close sometimes, not afraid of humans, infact they follow you through the forest knowing you will disturb flies on the way. cheers

Gamebird
Enjoyed all the videos. Is one of your new chickens a boy? The dark one seems well developed in the face trimmings department. Loved the definition of a battery hen. Nice to see a Folkie in daylight - delightful creature. Is that the New Zealand variety?
thechickenkeeper
I hope she's not a boy, But you are the second person to say so, she is a black minorca, which are a large bird, and i think she is 7-8 weeks maybe more, if you look at the adult bird they do have large features, comb etc, she has been very motherly to the younger two, so i don't think it's a he, but if so i can swap it for a nother, which will be kinda sad as i'm already attached to Maria. Gamebird
For 8 weeks Maria is certainly well advanced. Even if she is a he you could still keep her/him if the neighbours don't mind the cockle-doodle-do- do you have neighbours?
