The Dogmother
Ooo, Laura, you really need to get her away from the other hens immediately before they do any damage. Bring here inside and washe her botty with warm water with a couple of drops of tea tree oil in it. Have agood look at it and see whether she has anything hanging out of her botty (possible prolapse), or if it is bleeding from inside the vent. Come back and let me know what you can see; I will try to keep an eye out for your post. At any rate, she will need to be kept inside in the warm until it has stopped bleeding. The Dogmother
Don't worry too much about panicing her Laura, but it is importanmt that you get her away from the other chickens, or they will peck her vent until she is badly injured. Have you tried herding them in to the run or eglu and then grabbing her that way? Perhaps someone could give you a hand. Hopefully it isn't too serious, but you will need to assess the damage before you can be sure. Chickens will attack any sign of blood, so see if you can separate her. I wish I were nearer to give you a hand
The Dogmother
If you can't entice her with any corn or treats, then it's probably best to see if you can get her separate in the netting for the time being, as you suggest. Good luck with her later and let me know how you get on.
