Chook n Boo Mum

Jeyes Fluid

Recommended Posts

DH has bought a can of Jeyes home with a view to scrubbing the patio, back door porch and possibly the base of the chook run.

Will it be ok for the run? It's placed on old marine ply sheets which we had hanging around & decided to use them until we've decided on the final run - which I want & DH is not so keen on!!!

I've just removed all the messy hemcore from the door end, which tends to get foody, pooy & dustbathy, as I have such a trio of mucky girls! I was going to rinse it over with the Jeyes so that it dries before the chooks get up in the morning. It says its ok for pigeon lofts & to protect against bird flu, but if there are any reasons why not, I thought you lovely bods would know!

The only reason I would not use it is my hens have a tendency to eat or drink anything left over from cleaning if the get a smidgen of a chance! They are just so nosy :)I used to use it on my calf pens; but had to stop when they kept licking the walls after....it kept killing off all the bacteria in their guts and they died :(
