Preloved Cube problems - unable to post elsewhere ...

Recommended Posts

Good morning,

We purchased a "preloved" Cube recently; it is approx. 18 months old.

When reassembling it, we discovered the screw threads missing from the base panel at the rear of the Cube. This made it impossible to attach it to the brackets on the side panels.

I contacted Omlet for assistance. They told me that since I didn't purchase it from them; I wasn't a customer of Omlet (a lesson for us all!).

Basically, it was suggested I buy large "pointy" screws and screw into the plastic body of the base panel.

When I enquired as to whether this could have been a design fault of the earlier models (especially since this one has seals attached - it obviously leaked!) I was told the item is in excess of a year old and no longer under guarantee.

The only thing I was able to find out is that a brand new base would cost approx. £50.00 with carriage.

To say I am a little disappointed is an understatement...

Has anyone else come across this problem? And if so, how did you cure it?

Every blessing,

Pat & Steve

Hello there, I've just moved this to the cube section for you. :)

It's difficult, as it's a second hand cube, to say if it did have these threads but having a cube myself, about the same age, I can only say ours is fine. It would be up to the original purchaser to let Omlet know if they had a problem.

I'd personally go to the seller, as they have sold it to with a problem, from what you've said Omlet have offered spares. :?

Buffie x :)
