Autumn
One of my young cockerels has very sore/red looking feet, could this be leg mite or something else? I thought possible frost bite but that would be black i've been told, anyway, here's the pics, any advice?
Egluntyne
I think they could be frost bitten. The toes certainly look dead. I would recommend that you take him to a vet ASAP.
Autumn
Yes, having see the pics, he's being culled this afternoon. All the others in the pen are fine, my Mum said this one was the smallest and wasn't growing like the others either. Pity, he was a nice friendly Barnevelder Cockerel but I wouldn't want him to suffer so the deed must be done.
Egluntyne
Very sensible and pragmatic. A shame all the same.
likeastar--x
At least the poor boy wont suffer with it anymore, you did the right thing. Did the vet say what it was? Was it frostbite? Sorry, im asking for future reference.
The Dogmother
Looks like that, or a circulation problem - he's best being PTS especially if he was otherwise poorly.
