Walk in runs

Recommended Posts

Can anyone out there help me  I remember looking at a posting on this forum called chicken run inspiration, it had pages and pages of beautifully made coops and walk in runs. I have now decided that the eglu is fine in the summer when my 3 girls free range all the time, but they have wrecked my lawn over the winter months and I am going to build them a largish walkin run for next winter. I remember viewing runs but can no longer find the pages or posts :eh: also if anyone has any tips on resurecting a bare lawn any advice would be welcomed. :D

:D Thank you Scottie & Blackgold for your replies, I must have been having a senior moment as I thought I had searched the entire site for that topic  thank you for the tip about securing the run , another consideration as I live high up on the cliff top and we do infact get rather high winds :anxious:

Thanks for your replies. keep the tips coming

Hiya

We set our wooden posts in concrete! A lot sturdier now! We found before that in the damp weather the ground would just get saturated and the posts became loose easily. Ours is very simple compared to the others I have seen on here. We just set out our posts (all 2m above ground) then nailed chicken wire around the edges! Sounds very shoddy but does the trick and doesn't look as amateur as I am describing!
