Chillicat Posted January 23, 2009 Share Posted January 23, 2009 Hi I hatched two Buff Sussex chicks on 6th Sept 08, which makes them 20 weeks tomorrow. Pic is of Hector (left), who is going back to his parents farm on Saturday. We are keeping his sister, Poachy (right), who will hopefully soon lay her first egg. My other and 's first eggs came around 20 weeks, according to the ages given to us by the nice Omlet man who delivered them. Has anybody had experience of hatching a Buff Sussex, and when did you get your first egg? Any ideas when Poachy may lay her first egg? Christian Posted January 23, 2009 Share Posted January 23, 2009 My Buff sussex laid at approximately 23/24 weeks. I got her as an 11 week old chick. Brain is hurting and can't do the maths!
