Anytime!

I'm in San Francisco, California. Ever since I decided to get chickens, I've been ranting to my OH how backwards the States are compared to England. You have the Eglu and Cube, and you have Hemcore. I can't find hemp bedding anywhere in the states. We are sooo backwards! And I'm waiting for the next shipment of the Cube to the US, which is maybe the end of April. Oh, the wait.... :wall: I even went to a feed store today just to look at the baby chicks.

Yes the waiting is a real pain !

Try searching for miscanthus bedding, its a type of grass, I can't believe the US doesn't have Hemcore/Aubiose I would have thought they would be at the forefront of horse bedding technology seeing as horses are so popular over there!

Hi,

We've had a standard run with 4 chickens for a couple of weeks. They free range most afternoons. I'm not an expert (yet  ) but I think the space is OK. If they are in all day though they are desperate to get out by late afternoon. They literally seem to need to run around and jump a bit. I think I need to look at making it more interesting for them in the run for those occasions when they are stuck in for longer.

That's really great info. Thanks! I'm getting 3 chickens, so it should work out OK. I'll let them out when I get home from work...when it's light out. I was thinking of perches or like someone on this forum said, she used a shoe rack. I thought that was a great idea...serveral perches in one! That and maybe a treat ball. Something to entertain them.

When (or have you already?) are you going to post pictures of your Cube and girls? I'd love to see them. :D
