vetty82
Further to my previous post on trying to decide if chickens were for us, I think we have decided to go for it! Looking at getting a cube and 4 or 6 chickens to start off with, then we can always add more when we get a bit more experienced. Looking at ordering off the omlet website - are there any extras other than the cube and run, chickens and food that I will need? There's loads of stuff in the shop on here and I havent a clue what is a good idea, what isn't what I'll need what I wont..... Help? TIA Vetty x
Egluntyne
I would get grit and red mite powder for starters and then add to your armoury as and when you need it, otherwise you might bankrupt yourself. I would also recommend that you get a metal bin in which to store the food, so that Mr Rat doesn't come acalling. Something for the nesting box is useful too. I use Aubiose, which is a hemp based horse bedding.
Alfred
I would order an extra grub and glug at the same time - avoid fighting at first, and also useful when going away for weekend. A shower curtain to cover the run during winter is useful. Also rubber gloves for cleaning out. That's all I've needed so far - not had anything in the way of extra tonics and mine have been fine. quickcluck
I agree with all of the above!!!! I have 6 in a cube with the standard run and 2 extensions...... they have plenty of room I would get a compost scoop for the food and I have an extra grub and glub to help spread them about!
