siamang2
Please help anybody? My chickens have stopped laying and don't seem to be eating very much at all. I filled the 'grub' on thursday with fresh pellets and I hardly needed to add any more today. Treats have been cut right back, one handful of corn mix every other day (which they don't seem to bothered about either! Last week they were getting a small pot of kitchen left overs each day in the afternoon.) They are still drinking. They are extremely noisy when ever I go outside, following me around. Is this a case of me overfeeding them with the treats, and now they are refusing to eat pellets in protest? If so, how do I reverse this? Or do you think it is something else? Any advice welcome! Thanks
Redwing
Have you changed the brand of pellets? my girls and I had a stand off after I changed the brand - they broke first
Egluntyne
Have they been wormd recently? Are they moulting? Either would stop them laying, and their appetites lessen when they are not laying.
siamang2
I have changed the brand of pellets, but that was 2 weeks ago. Although I suppose they might have had reduced appetites since then?! They haven't recently been wormed and don't appear to be moulting. I did make a porridge with the pellets last night and this morning, after reading other posts, and they seem to be eating this.
