What a bargain!

Recommended Posts

I've got a 'do' to go to soon and have just been out looking for an evening dress. I found one in the first shop I went into, Laura Ashley, for £24 :shock::D:D

It was in the sale and there was only this one and one in size 8. I tried it on and it fits like a dream. I'm so happy that I saved some money that I'm going to go out and buy some shoes as well :D Oh and some jewellery, possibly a handbag and a shrug or a pashmina......

If my hubby ever gets the router problem sorted out I will get some photos up and show you all. Its only a black long dress but its got drapy (sp?) bits going across the front and its not strappy so I don't have to worry about bra straps showing etc and its just perfect. Can you tell I'm happy? :D

Last time I had a do to buy a dress for it took me for ever and then I still wasn't very happy with it at the end. Even the assistant said it looked really good. It was in the sale for £40, she rung it up and then said do you want some even better news - its £24.

Well done Ann!

It's great when you get a bargain like that. Was it a really good reduction? As you so rightly say....now for the shoes etc. etc. etc!

When's the 'do' and we will get to see pics....wont we :!:

Edited to say.....there's nothing like cross posting is there :roll::roll::doh:

The original price of the dress was £80 (so that was cheaper than I was expecting) so I'm really chuffed.

The do is in early March. Its a charity do in memory of my OH's cousin's girlfriend who died 2 christmas's ago. She worked as a dietician and worked voluntarily for a polysistic ovary charity. She was a fantastic girl, beautiful inside and out. She had just written a book to help ladies with this condition, it was published just after her death. Her name was Caroline Murphy, a very sad loss.

I'll definitely have some photos taken when I'm all done up. Caroline's favourite colour was turquoise so we all have to have a touch of that colour. I'll either get a pashmina or piece of jewellery in turquoise to go with the dress.

How you feeling Jackie?

Ann

I almost think it was Chelsea as I didn't really think Laura Ashley would have any evening dresses. I went in mostly because my mum wanted to go in and look at the household stuff. Then she started looking in the sale things and lo and behold there it was. A dress of fate perhaps!! :D
