McChook
Congratulations on a wonderful valentines present! I only use citricidal if one of my girls is sneezing - I don't want them to build a resistance to it. I put a dusting of diatom in their dustbath and a little in their food every so often and give them a 5 ml teaspoon of garlic powder with every full grub of food (along with limestone flour) - but then, my chickens were POL when I had them and I know nothing about younger chickens so this info is probably useless! Someone who knows a lot more than me will give you some advice soon Good luck with your new girls
Egluntyne
I use Citricidal if they are sniffling too. Just a few drops as it is very bitter. Great for human colds also.
Larkspurs
Sorry I can't answer your question just thought I'd say congratulations and welcome to the world of chickens We use a pinch of garlic powder in their treats. Ain't Nobody Here
Congratulations on your Valentine present - lucky you . I keep Citricidal handy for sniffles - never had to use it yet ( ). I'm not sure about the other stuff as your girls are very young, but shortly after my girls arrived (aged 16-18 weeks) I used garlic powder & poultry spice in their pellets, diatom along the edges of the eglu bars, red mite powder in their nestbox (and under their armpits occasionally) and apple cider vinegar in their water . I also give them bokashi bran in their pellets (helps firm up the poos and reduces smells!) Don't feel you have to do it all straight away - you'll get the hang of what and when to do things by having a good read of the forum (and asking questions!) I use Flubenvet so can't advise about Vermex .

tidygirlsuk
Thanks for the advise everyone. I think that I'd feel a little more confident if they weren't so young. Thank you to who posted their own personal website, they have been very informative and made me laugh. I think that you have to much time to spare, lol. I have taken some photos but i'm going to take some more when they are aloud out of the run. We haven't choose names yet. After their first night two of them have got some poo stuck to their feet. shall i get them out tomorrow to clean it ?
