flowerangelk8x Posted March 2, 2009 Share Posted March 2, 2009 hi, i've had my gilrs for 4 days!they are great fun, and a great time waster for all the family. they are from omlet and one is and one is . the is the oldest and when she was delivered the omelt man said , because her comb is quite red she could start to lay at any time... well she has laid 2 eggs. .. but they are very strange?... the shell is very soft! the egg is complete inside , but it feels like its in a bag not a shell??? not sure what this is about we are feeding them on layers pellets, corn, bran and grit....(all form omlet) is this normal, or is my chicken not quite right????? i have read others first egg reports and no one seems to mention the really soft shell thing?? any help with this matter would be gratefully recieved! thanks kate. Snowy Posted March 2, 2009 Share Posted March 2, 2009 Hi, it is quite normal for them to have a few odd eggs when they first come into lay, especially soft/thin shelled eggs.
