Move eglu round on grass (what there is) or permanent place?

Recommended Posts

Eglu due on Friday, I have been moving the one I have borrowed around the lawn but we seem to have run out of grass already as it is not growing back at this time of year and we only have a small garden.

The cube is in a permanent spot with aubios and I get on really well with this, I find the eglu run really hard to clean out, so I have been moving it every few days and raking over the grass, this seems a lot easier than trying to clean out aubiose in the run.

so what does everyone do, and how do you clean out the run???

My (green eglu) is on a fixed site. Aubiose in the run and bark outside as path for us humans. This is all kept in one area by log edging.

When I clean the (green eglu) I take it off the run and move it to the patio to give is a blast with the hose. This then leaves the run open at both ends so I can rake out the Aubiose.

When I just want to do a quick poo pick I am afraid I squeeze into the run through the little door and crawl about on my hands and knees. I am only 5ft 2 but if you are tall then it might not be so easy. Also beware of OH`s who think it is highly amusing to shut you inside.

I have got (cube green) and WIR being built but i was considering making the whole end panel of the eglu run into a door. Loose the run clips all the way round and use velcro ties or something similar so that the whole end piece can be laid down (run clip hinges along bottom) or open like a door? Not sure if it would work or not.
