Single hen

One of my girls seems unwell she won't stop sleeping and is cowering in the corner. We noticed yesterday that her tail was mostly down and she was wanting to sleep.

 

I would be grateful for some advice.

Is she eating or drinking?

doesn't sound good.

is she sleeping or hunched?

I would take her to the vet myself.

Have you checked her for lice and mites and wormed her recently?

 

What is her poo like?

 

Does her chest sound wheezy ir rattly when you place an ear along her back?

 

I would bring her in and keep her warm, and try to encourage her to drink.

 

A trip to the vets might be a good idea.

She hasn't eaten or drunk anything today, and is hunched over, no wheezing I will keep an eye on her. I have a vets appt later for one one of my other pets so I may phone and take her with me.

 

Could she be eggbound?

She is showing symptoms of being egg bound so I have put her in warm water for half an hour, has anyone else got anymore tips as to what I should do?

but unfortunatley she passed away.
