Runner123
Afternoon all. Put the girls to bed last night, and when I was doing the head count, I noticed one missing. Found her huddled up a few yards from the coop, with her legs out to one side and not really doing a deal! Picked her up and put her back in one of the egg boxes but she could not stand up at all. Checked on her this morning, she seems bright and alert, eating what I put in front of her but she just cannot seem to stand up. She moves her legs in an attempt to get up but cannot. She had also laid an egg but it was basically just like a balloon, it looked fine but was all soft and floppy! Any ideas please?? JB
kerryegg
Sorry to hear your news. I'm on expert but limestone flour worked very quickly for my lame hen. She was eating but couldn't stand. I mixed a spoonful with some yoghurt and the recovery was in a matter of hours. I now add a small scoop to their feed. 2 weeks on and o.k so far.
