I never thought this would happen........

Mark, what a wonderful thing to do! You really did a wonderful thing for that woman. Hopefully she'll do the same for someone else somewhere down the road. And I do think what goes around comes around...although the phrase is usually used when someone does something not very nice...so I hope good things come back your way, soon!

It is 10am here and the young family buying my eglu will be here between noon and 1pm. I really am going to be sad to see the girls and the eglu go. I should have thought this through a little more. When I ordered my cube, I had planned on building a large walk in run so I didn't order the attached run with the cube, with the eglu leaving (along with it's secure run) I won't have anywhere secure to keep the two of my original girls I was going to keep, so because the pecking order is sorted, and I have no place to secure the girls, and they are after all used to each other, I will be letting all four of my girls be rehomed along with the eglu. :(

Oh Mark, that's really sad :( . Can't you find a way to keep the two - you should be able to get something to make a run? Have you seen Mostin's run made out of wire building site type panels? It seems such a shame to end up with no girls at all :( .

I know especially since I have the cube sitting empty out in the drive. There just isn't any feasible way I could secure the girls against predators. I've tried just about everything I could think of, really the best solution is to keep the girls together in the eglu, I've ordered an attached run for the cube when I relized my mistake with the hopes it would arrive before the girls departure but no such luck. Lack of planning has surely made today a sad one. :(

BTW I just saw your WIR Vicki......you must be so pleased, it is a thing of beauty.

oh Mark, I'm so sorry that you are giving up your Steel Magnolia girls! :(

I'm sure you'll be sending them off with concern for their best interests and with a tear in your eye and love in your heart. All the best to them, their new family and to you for your selflessness :clap:

Thanks everybody I will work it out. I'm a combination of very sad and a bit angry as well, angry at myself (for not thinking about a secure run), but also with my sister and her fiance (which I posted about a while back) my sister and I agreed on the chickens, but her fiance had some problems with it and well, now I'm moving, which I blame on the two of them, more my sister as she hasn't a backbone and allows men to control her. This has been a constant source of contempt since Christmas 2008, and now it will end with the departure of the girls, followed by my departure in April.

I will always be there for my sister (and nephews) as they are my only family and I love them, but I don't trust her anymore, it will take a long while for me to come to grips with all that has transpired over the past couple of months. One door closes and another opens. I will view this as a new start.

So sorry to hear your news Mark :( , it's so sad but at least you know for sure your girls will be comletely safe. I suppose they'll be gone now otherwise I would also post ideas of ways you might keep them. I'll keep my mouth shut though, as I bet that will just upset you now.

Hopefully once you get settled at the beach with your cube and your new girls you can still have a really good relationship with your nephews without having to put up with your Sister and fiance. You'll be providing a really safe bolt hole for those kids as well.

Very true that another window is opening for you, big hugs
