If chickens eat too much grass seed is it bad for them?

 

We put some chicken wire over a patch of grass/mud and covered it with seeds so we'd hopefully grow back some grass...but the chickens kept getting under and eating it. I was scared they'd get stuck in the wire and panic so I've pulled it off. Now they're gobbling up the grass seed and I worry that this could be another problem if its bad for them...

I hope not because I'm going to put some down. Actually guess I better check for additives like fungicide.
