Mrs Webmuppet
We have both Bantams and mini chooks, one of our bantams is quiet, the other is rather vocal ( gets in a right old strop if she doesn't get her way), the mini chooks are pretty quiet. The bantams aren't reliable layers, when they do bother to lay their eggs are half the size of normal eggs (around 30g). The mini Orpington lays every other day and the mini Maran has only just started laying, their eggs are on the small side of medium (around 56g). Their requirements are the same as full sized chooks, but heir poos are smaller.
The Dogmother
I have a mixed flock of both bantams and miniatures, some of them are noisy, some aren't. But they still don't make as much noise as a friend's big hybrids. They also do less damage to the garden.
