The Dogmother
One of my 'retirees' - Lavinia, a lavender pekin banty - laid me two eggs last week! She's about 4 and hardly laid any last year, preferring to be broody , she'd not laid any so far this year, so I thought that she'd just packed up laying. What's the betting that she starts to brood again as soon as the weather gets warm though?! She's a good brooder and mother, but so grumpy and hormonal. I currently have 3 retired ladies, who sit in the sun, swap knitting patterns and eat me out of house an home

Egluntyne
I've got three retirees too. Good for Lavinia. There is life in the old girl yet!
