Ben
I got my chickens on Monday 3 warrens.I have an eglu with a run extension aswell. First of all my chickens seem to not like the pellets as i give them pellets in the morning then corn in the evenig. Also i have not got an egg yet and the lady said who we got them from that they were already laying, why could this be?
alih
Sometimes chickens can be a bit thrown by moving house which is why they may not be laying quite yet. i would give it another few days or even a week before expecting any eggs. The pellets will be eaten if you don't offer them anything else! It will help them start laying again too if you lay off the treats for a bit or limit it to a tiny bit in the afternoon when they have eaten thei ratio of pellets. Chickens are clever enough to know that if treats are on their way they can save themselves up and do without the pellets
The Dogmother
Hi Ben Were they fed pellets at the breeder? Some people feed their hes on mash and they just get used to that form of feed. The ingredients are the same, it just looks different.
