4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Just had my girls since Saturday. Never noticed this before but the girls have gone back into the eglu, I have crept out and had a peek their bums are facing the door and all just sitting in their

 

Any ideas

 

Just so many questions you will be getting fed up with me

Maybe they're checking out the nestbox and thinking "d'you think we're supposed to lay our eggs in there ?".

 

Any signs of crouching or bigger, redder combs & wattles?

Thanks, its so reassuring knowing your all out there

 

I noticed yesterday that Holly gingernut ranger kept crouching under the water bowl and then she should get straight up She kept doing it a few times. There wattles are quite red, when I posted pictures on saturday one fellow Omletter said "their face furniture looked quite mature"

Try putting a flat hand just above her back and see if she squats down .

Just been and checked - NO egg

 

I tried putting a flat hand on her back, bit difficult to tell as she shoots away, definitely crouches if I put a little pressure on

Mine did the same at first and spent much of the first week in the Eglu. Now they only really go in to lay or to roost

Perhaps they go and see if they can rearrange the furniture? Mine did this as they were coming into lay, they would troop in and out and even now Ruby will keep Opal company when laying.
