Surrey Hen
Hi All, I wonder if anyone else has had this problem - I kept my girls on Aubiose all winter, raked it regularly and changed the top layer several times. They both developed clogged lumps on thier toes which I assme were made up of a combination of poo and something from the Aubiose. The lumps were solid as rock and hard to get off - luckily my girls were very calm about being picked up and having thier toes washed and cleaned. Has anyone else come across this and if so what did you do about it? Surrey Hen
C&T
Hello, We occasionally have the same problem with Hemcore. We have only had to wash it off once though when it got really bad - the rest of the time it has come off by itself within a few minutes of them scratching around the garden when they are out free ranging. Why do I know that now I have said that I am going to have to wash their feet this weekend...
Barkisland
Yes, it happens to my ex batts when there has been wet weather. I think because their toe nails are longer and the mud/poo etc. congeals around the nail to form a hard clump. I did the same as you, soaked the bobble with warm soapy water and gently broke it up to remove it. Flo was definitely not impressed with the 'special treatment', but she soon forgot about it when I gave her a grape for being good
