Chickenpooooo
Nettle is not well at the moment. I noticed that she was looking a bit bald underneath a couple of days ago but was otherwise fine. Today there was a kerfuffle in the hen house and when I went out noticed that she has lost alot more feathers, near her neck now. She has also been losing weight over the past few days. Today she is looking really thin and so much lighter than usual. I have brought her out of the hen house to get her away from the others incase they are bullying her. I've given her all her favourite treats and stuff and she refuses to eat any of it!! (not like her at all!) I did think she may have worms, she won't eat the worming stuff though grrrrr. Any one got any suggestions? She's still bokking about the place argh I'm so worried!!
Egluntyne
Sounds as if she need to see the vet. The loss of appetite is quite worrying. Does her chest sound rattly at all? How does her crop seem?

Hen Watch
Sorry to hear she's unwell and not eating. If she won't eat food with worming medication on it, a vet could give her an injection instead. My Stella went to the vet last week and was given a shot of Ivomec (not licenced for poultry - 1 month egg withdrawal). Have you tried mixing her pellets/mash with lots of warm water to make a runny sludge. My lot are sometimes tempted when unwell and it gets water and nutrition into them. Chickenpooooo
Nettle is doing a bit better, managed to tempt her to eat a few bits later this afternoon, still not her usual greedy self though, and she had a really good drink too so I'm feeling a bit happier with her, shall see how she is in the morning. Hen Watch
I've been watching the sorcerers apprentice (shifts force me.. can't stick Jeremy Kyle!!) saw Holly yey!! she was very brave!! What a sweetie!! The one I wanted to win today didn't though, has Holly carried on with her magic?? Errr ...... not really, she was at Junior school when this was filmed last year and now she is a secondary school pupil....... Holly was the youngest there (only aged 11) and an older girl Sarah took her under her wing so we wanted Sarah to win. But hey ho...... Holly had an amazing time and will never forget the experience. Amazing really as it was all just from filling in an application form last year. We thought ordinary school children wouldn't get through to these sorts of programs but we were wrong and Holly did get through the auditions. We got a nice box set of the series on DVD which arrived today from the TV production company (not like we haven't taped them anyway). Glad to hear Nettle is getting better.
