Tombull10
Hi all, I have 3 ex-batts which i've had since feb. 2 of the girls stopped laying for a while and grew their feathers back and now look very healthy. The third, felicity, still looks a bit of a state but has laid every day we'v had her up until today. She's always been the liveliest of the 3 but last night she got very quiet and took herself to bed very early whilst i was allowing them to free range which is not like her at all. Today is the first time she's not laid. She's either just been stood in the shade or sat on the nesting box. She's very subdued. She's not even chasing me round the garden for treats!! She's drinking lots of water but hardly eating anything and i've noticed her poo is very runny and bright green!! Can anyone offer any advice as i'm quite worried about her! Thanks everyone. SLK69
Not able to offer any advice - but I've had ex-batts for over a year now (3 left out 5) and they sometimes go through phases of being withdrawn - sometimes they lay an odd agg after acting weird and sometimes they seem to just perk up after a day or two - I lost one last week who just seemed to die in her sleep after a normal day - and yet ones I've brought inside becasue they were acting so bad are still alive and pecking. no rhyme or reason to the behaviours of my ex-batts. let me know what happens - I love the ex-batt girls. susie
sandyhas3chucks
trouble is they seem to display almost the same symptoms for everything, however I noticed with mine that they always drink lots with a softee on the way, something to do with needing more fluid for extra lubrication, also the effort too I should think. Fingers crossed that's all it is
Egluntyne
Have you wormed her recently? A miserable appearance, going off lay and squitty poos can be a sign of worms. I would start her on a course of Flubenvet.
