4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hi all,

 

I have collected an egg today and the shell has hard raised spots on it. Looks a bit like warts! Does anyone have any idea wht this is and what causes it. Sorry if this has been asked many times before but my girls have been laying for about 5 weeks now and I have not come accross this before.

Had the same recently - tasted fine - looks like some sort of calcium deposits to me. Egg from same hen the next day was fine.

We've had these before, I thought they were just extra calcium.

Hi Ihave bought those in the shops before with hard lumpy bits on..the egg inside was fine
