craftyhunnypie
I can't grow them in the garden because of the chooks. Can I grow them in pots, tubs, hanging baskets? I do have a veg patch away from the chooks, but it's full now. What's the best way to grow them? Could I use pop bottles as cloches? helenarees
Hello, In the past I've grown them on my kitchen windowsill in margerine tubs (and compost) and just cut off the leaves as I needed them. They last quite a while like that and you just have to keep planting seeds weekly. Helena
Redwing
You can sow them in hanging baskets and troughs no problem
craftyhunnypie
Do you need drain holes & pebbles in the bottom of the margarine tubs? Emma.x
helenarees
Hello, I just stabbed the margerine tub a couple of times with 1 blade of a kitchen scissors (need to do it quite carefully otherwise could split it) and use the lid (name side up) as a drainage saucer. Matthew
Do you need drain holes & pebbles in the bottom of the margarine tubs? Emma.x drain holes yes pebbles depends on how big but if standard size I'd say now to pebbles
