2009 Omlet cube and run for sale

Hi, im building a larger run next month for my chickens and planning on having it "open topped". How high do i need to build the mesh side panels to keep the girls from flying over the top? Ive clipped the wings which should help but does anyone have any experience on how high theirs can get?

I have a walk in run which is 7ft high at the tallest point on the roof and 2 of my hens regularly fly onto the top when they are free ranging.

 

Remember that the fox can easily scale a 6 foot fence.

 

I would put a roof on it, whilst you've got your ladders out.

Mine is just over 7 foot, and I found its not the height, because they can use the mesh as a ladder and run up it, and they also stand on top of things and jump.

I'd aggree with Egluntine (as always ) and put a roof on.
