Guest
I like Minimalism and you're right about the hypnotic effect. We used to find it great late at night It is fascinating stuff, especially if you like the mathematical side of music. Both my daughters have done brilliantly well at GCSE with minimalist compositions, getting virtually full marks. I like Steve Reich and also Philip Glass. BeckyBoo
Ooooh Ginette, I was going to suggest Phillip Glass too! I had Glassworks on a tape (how old? ) years ago and a very VERY long time ago I went to see Akhenaten the Philip Glass opera at Covent Garden. I went when I was a goth, with two lads who were also glam goths, we got dolled up to the NINES, I bought a HUGELY expensive dress from Kensington market (£130 20 years ago!) put on ALL our best black eye make up, had enormously long red nails (me AND the boys!) and when we got there almost everyone else was in jeans and t-shirts! Still we made an entrance and when you're a 19 year old goth that's all that matters! I found all the photos last night but I haven't got a scanner so I can't show you (thank goodness!)
