Jonny
Quick help needed! One of our chucks has looked under the weather this afternoon. Just gave her a once over and a softish egg shell is hanging out of her vent. Do I gently pull it out? Leave her to pass it on her own? Take her to the vets? Thanks in advance. Egluntyne
I would gently pull it out as her companions will peck at it.
Jonny
Ta. You're a legend. Is it dangerous for her if the egg has broken inside?
Jonny
Pulled it out but it was quite stuck. Charlie took a couple of minutes now seems back to her usual self. Incidently my wife had a ceasarian section last week and I watched most of it. Pulling the egg out of the vent and all that entailed was far worse than anything I saw then! Jonny
Thanks! We had a baby girl called Emma. I won't list all the problems we've had but safe to say her arrival was a great relief!
