fluffyknickers
Yesterday we (me, OH, kids and my mum and dad) went to Boydells Dairy Farm near Braintree in Essex. We had the best time and I can highly reccomend it for a visit. We have visited quite a few farm attractions before but this was MUCH more hands on than any others we have been to. We got to - Go in the chicken area and collect all the different coloured eggs and feed them (wonderful selection of gorgeous chickens and stunning cockerals) Cuddle baby goats (they were so gorgeous and snuggly) Milk a cow by hand Watch the sheep being milked Bottle feed baby lambs Hold baby chicks and ducklings (great for me to see how mine started off) Have a little cart ride by a shetland pony Watch the sheepdogs at work rounding up the sheep for milking Feed the Calves some milk See baby lamb born that morning Walk the little shetland back round to the paddock and have a stroke of the other pony and the Donkey Stroke the lamas Stroke couple of the pigs Its all very laid back and informative and run by a family and is a working farm. Its only open at the weekends and also school holidays from 2-5pm. http://www.boydellsdairy.co.uk/index.html Really lovely place to visit and hope to go again soon.
